For Health Care Professionals
For those experiencing compassion fatigue, chronic stress and loss in medical settings such as hospices, hospitals, oncology offices, and treatment departments - resiliency, well-being and the capacity for self & patient compassion can be learned and strengthened.
Full and half day retreats, one-time and ongoing support groups as well as clinical consultation for complex grief, loss, trauma and other clinical issues:
benefits practitioners by helping to promote resilience and meaning for health care workers.
benefits patients by improving clinical encounters and relationships with health care providers.
benefits health care systems by promoting behaviors that support improved care delivery.

It is profoundly comforting to be part of a uniquely supportive monthly group where we are encouraged to practice self compassion within the framework of mindfulness. Nowhere else have I discovered such a safe and confidential place to be with coworkers, who know all too well the challenges of being a caring health care professional. If only all health care organizations could have Ellen leading a group like this, staff members would be better supported to do the hard work we do, the ripple effects would be far and deep, and I dare say that the world would be a better place.
